2019: After recruiting around 4,450 medical officers, assistant surgeons
and assistant dental surgeons initiative to recruit around 300 non-cadre
physicians was taken following the recommendations of the Bangladesh Public
Service Commission (PSC).
The non-cadre medical officers, assistant surgeons and
assistant dental surgeons will also be recruited from the Bangladesh Civil
Service (BCS) 39th batch, according to the PSC sources.
Earlier on November 19, the Public Administration Ministry
appointed 4,443 physicians under Health Cadre of BCS 39th batch following the
PSC recommendation.
Of the physicians, 4,203 were appointed as Assistant Surgeon
and Medical Officer and 240 as Assistant Dental Surgeon.
The PA ministry asked the selected physicians to join the
department or offices under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare by
December 8 this year.
According to the PA Ministry order, the physicians will have
to join the offices following the directives of their line ministry by the
December 8.
If the line ministry doesn't give any directive, they will
have to join the line ministry on December 8.
The PSC sources said it had published names of 8,360 doctors
for recruiting as non-cadre physician from the selected candidates of BCS 39th
batch.
They have been demonstrating for a few days demanding chance
of appointment as cadre doctors.
A total of 39,954 applications were submitted for the BCS
specially kept reserved for physicians to fill up the vacancies of doctors in
country's different hospitals.
A total of 13,750 aspirants were qualified in the
preliminary BCS exams held on August 3 last year.
