2019: Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque on Monday said
gastro liver treatment service would be available in all hospitals across the
country.
“A large number of people of the country are suffering from
stomach diseases due to having adulterated foods. And many people are taking
drugs frequently for gastric. All hospitals of the country would be equipped to
deal with the disease,” the minister said.
The health minister made the statement while inaugurating
the indoor and endoscopy services of Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and
Hospital at Mohakhali in the capital. Zahid Maleque said the hospital is ready
to provide the medical services which are not available in any other hospitals
in the subcontinent.

Faruq Hassan presided over the inaugural function while Directorate General of
Health Services (DGHS) Director General Prof Abul Kalam Azad, gastro liver
hospital former director Prof Mahmud Hassan and National Institute of Cancer
Research and Hospital director Prof Moarraf Hossen, among others, were present
at the programme.
