500 poor eye patients getting free treatment in Rangpur


Health Desk- 25 Jan 2020: Some 500 poor eye patients are receiving cost free cataract operation with implantation of artificial lens at a week-long free eye camp being held from on Friday at Kawnia Upazila Health Complex in the district.
Bangladesh unit of UK-based voluntary organisation Al-Basheer International Foundation under management of Al-Noor Eye Hospital are providing free treatments to eye ailments and conducting cataract surgeries and implanting artificial lenses in the camp.
Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Md. Asib Ahsan inaugurated the week-long free eye camp in a function held on Kawnia Upazila Health Complex Premises on Friday as the chief guest.
With Kawnia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ulfat Ara Begum in the chair, Superintendent of Police Biplob Kumar Saker, Civil Surgeon Dr. Hirombo Kumar Roy, Kawnia Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mir Hossain and Principal of Kawnia Degree College Musa Ahmmed attended the function as special guests, reports BSS.
Director General of Bangladesh Region of Al-Basheer International Foundation Dr. Ahmed Taher Hamid Ali its Medical Director Dr. Md. Abu Sayeed and Human Resources manager Nuruzzaman Khoshnabeesh were present.
