Doctor's hanging body found in city


Health Desk- 15 Feb, 2020: Police recovered the hanging body of a doctor of BIRDEM General Hospital from a private hospital at Matuail in the capital on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Mobarak Karim, a physician of Anesthesia Department of the BIRDEM.
Siddiqur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Demra Police Station, confirmed the matter.
He said police had recovered the hanging body of the deceased from a room of Friendship Specialised Hospital and Digital Diagnostic Centre at around 12:00 noon.
According to the information, Jamal, director of the private hospital, uses the room in which the victim’s body was found.
The body was sent to the morgue of Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (Mitford Hospital) for autopsy, he said.
In response to a question whether it was a murder or suicide, the OC said they primarily suspected it was a suicide as police recovered the body after breaking the door which was locked from inside.
As the incident took place in the hospital, police will carry out investigation into the matter.
Mainul Islam, brother-in-law of the victim, claimed that it was a pre-planned murder.
