Awareness programme on dengue prevention held in Dhaka

Health Desk- 15 Oct, 2019: A programme titled ‘Dengue Prevention Awareness Programme’ was held at Mugda area in the capital on Sunday.

The event is intended to raise awareness about control of dengue outbreak.

National Institute of Advanced Nursing Education and Research (NIANER) in collaboration with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and KOICA Bangladesh Alumni Association (KBAA) jointly organised the programme.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Country Director of KOICA Bangladesh Office Joe Hyun-Gue, Councilor of Ward No- 06, Dhaka South City Corporation ABM Shirajul Islam and Director of NIANER Hamima Umme Morsheda were present at the programme

Recently, Bangladesh has been plagued by dengue outbreak affecting about 91,000 people. In this light, KOICA together with NIANER attempted to address this issue by holding a rally and marching towards the targeted slum in areas distributing leaflets and mosquito nets to the community people.
