Health Desk- Oct 17, 2019: The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Chattogram Medical College
Hospital’s Cardiology Ward was extended from
16 to 31 beds on Wednesday.
Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation AJM Nasir Uddin
inaugurated the extension at a programme jointly organised by CMCH Patients
Welfare Association and CMCH Cardiology Department.
Taher Brothers, a business conglomerate of the port city,
donated the beds through CMCH Patients Welfare Association, said Mujibul Haque
Khan, president of Bangladesh Medical Association’s Chattogram chapter.
Mayor Nasir said the doctors and nurses of CMCH have been
doing a tremendous job -- delivering healthcare services to patients despite
limited resources.
He praised the Patients Welfare Association and Taher Brothers
for providing assistance towards the welfare of patients. He also urged the
well-off section of society to extend their support.
Among others, Head of CMCH Cardiology Department Prabir
Kumar Das was present, at the programme with CMCH Director Brig Gen Mohsen
Uddin Ahmed in the chair.
